miniMASSIVE - a chance to celebrate the learning, culture and sharing at our place. Te kura o BROOKLYN.
A very clever bunch of students and teachers for creating a magical presentation of our terms learning. Dance, drama, visual and creative work shared and enjoyed by everyone.
A mixture of team work from our enthusastic kapa haka group, native birds and a pohutakawa tree, rakau, poi and special postcards from the places we like to visit. Tourists in our own country, national pride and recognition of famous kiwi icons, and building our place like the block.

The Black it Out challenge.
The senior class have been following the current events surrounding the Lions tour. There has been a lots of discussion about the sharing of cultures, the history of the tour, and the tour itself - matches throughout our wonderful country. To continue with the building team spirit the class participated in some challegnes AKO together, with mixed age groups. The wonderful Room 5 - Dream Catcher students joined us for some challenges!
Travelling the length of the field, with your team, without using your hands or dropping the ball - “balloon’
Whilst in the black jersey, carring the ball and hitting the balloon ball with the head mounted device to score a try!
Using the device to manipulate the pen to write your teams name on the paper!

Hanging out with the SOUTHERN STING. The players and their trophy from winning the ANZ premiership tournament. Winning 16 games in a row.
These awesome players are in our region as part of the SUPER CLUB event. 8 teams - Southern Sting, Pulse and Northern Mystics. South Africa, Trindad and Tobago. Fiji, New South Wales, and the Celtic Flames - from Wales. How licky are we to have this level of netball in our region.

Maia - what a wonderful explanation of your thinking and topic book work. Kat, we loved your explanation of the lava lamp and the convection currents it examples. Boiled peas sounds interesting too.

The convivial Brooklyn team are looking forward to to playing host to their visitors, and know you will have an enjoyable and enriching visit to our surrounds, with the prospect of a worthy read, a wholesome delicacy, and sociable stop - Ako Matanga – Together at Brooklyn.
Come and join everyone for the occasion at the corner of the Umukuri Road, just 6kms away from Motueka. What ever the weather the Book Fair is on, and you will not be disappointed for making the visit.
The Books: Lynley Gillatt and her willing helpers have worked tirelessly to sort, process an collate an amazing selection of great reads – again new books have been collected and sourced, so they haven’t been ‘picked through’ – nothing but the best, attractively displayed for you to make selections from within our hall. This year the children’s books have all been placed in the adjoining classroom to allow more room for you to meander and handpick – top quality reading material for the summer.
Our amazing Brooklyn bakers have been in action to supply the baking stall, with nothing but quality baking.
More food options will also be on offer including the tasty Lower Moutere Store sausages. You could also have some bacon and egg butties if you desire.
The ever popular sweet treats will again be on sale. A big thank you to Talley’s for the icecream which will be readily available on the day.
The AMAZING café which will stock delicious CELCUIS coffee and teas as well as other country delights to tempt the taste buds.
A myriad of tempting goods – no electronics in the Wally’s Wharehouse but a huge range of furntiture, knicknacks, clothes and games. Another chance for you to have a look through.
On going music and entertainment includes FireBIrd Circus with a have a go session at the end, from the ash tree - and you’ll have to wait and see what else!

Friday the 21st October the Brooklyn bugs and mini beasts will look amazing in the Nelson Masked Parade. Glitzed and glammed, papier mached and glued - we are ready.
