Primary Enterprise - PreP
Our students have spent valuable learning time, investigating venture ideas and exploring the key competencies to develop services and products within the PreP programme. This thinking and learning will be show cased and ‘experienced’ as part of the Junior Market Day – Junior students will offer their products and services to the whole school during the market. Students have Brooklyn Dollars to ‘spend’ within the market. These Brooklyn Dollars have been earned as income for their work within the PreP and venture activities in class. The junior market will feature 8 stalls.
Parents are invited to ‘watch’ the enterprise and market. Our Brooklyn Dollars will be the currency for the market, utilised by the students only.

The Harakeke students have been developing their venture, enterprise and financial literacy thinking to develop a service on offer to all Brooklyn students. Harakeke have split into businesses and are busy decision making and market researching for event management, themes, decorations, social care, photography, first aide, catering and presentation to culminate in a….
School Disco - Friday 24th July (please note this is week 1 of term 3) 5-6:30 pm juniors 7-9pm for seniors.
An adults chill station will be available for coffee and cake in Room 6 whilst your child/ren are at the event. Profits made from the Harakeke disco will be added to the classroom budget to cover our EOTC expenses this year. Students are working in real money, not the Brooklyn Dollars.

Welcome to the ‘Venture Endeavours’ (PreP) of Room Pounamu 2015. Our learning and thinking has been based around the goal:
To provide an appealing, and financially rewarding menu and eating environment for our customers.
Our learning has seen us investigating food handling and kitchen safety practices. Sourcing resources and recipes, making good financial decisions and working together as a business to advertise, manage our product and keep accurate financial records.
Profits made from the student’s ventures will be added to the classroom budget to cover our EOTC expenses this year. Students are working in real money, not the Brooklyn Dollars.

Your pre order docket can be returned with your money to the office where Room Pounamu students will add your name to the Restaurant list, and a receipt and reminder of the day you have ordered your lunch will be given. You can preorder – and pay for as many restaurants that you like. – Parents, friends and family, are welcome to lunch and this dining experience. On the day of your lunch – you will be welcomed into the restaurant and seated to consume your meal from 12:40pm. – the full dining experience.

Another big bunch of names and AC'S . Wonderful to see our students being great citizens and working really hard around and within our school. These names have been acknowledged and added to the tally for the term. The students with the most AC'S for the term will be treated to a special morning tea with Mr Kemp.
